Your mission

Our hotel - which is part of the Accor hotel chain - has 314 rooms, a breakfast restaurant and a cool game room. We are centrally located between Amsterdam Buitenveldert and Amstelveen Stadshart and we are the ideal base to explore Amsterdam and the surrounding area. You can reach us by tram (which stops in front of the hotel!). Furthermore, our hotel is easily accessible by bicycle and you can park your car for free.
At Borealis Hotel Group we are looking for a Maintenance technician (f/m/d) for the ibis budget Amsterdam City South.
In the position of Maintenance technician, you will be conducting preventive maintenance tasks and technical repairs under the supervision of the Cluster Chief Engineer.

What a day looks like:
  • Attend the team briefing to go through the activities for the day ahead
  • Follow-up of technical problems and defects
  • Carry out preventive maintenance task in line with the preventative maintenance plan of the hotel
  • Conducting safety rounds in the hotel
  • Execute compliance tasks such as preventative legionella flushing, checking of the emergency lights, checking fire-doors and prepare the appropriate recording and reporting
  • Execute routine checks on the hotel maintenance systems
  • Follow up on requests from guests and colleagues
  • Accompany contractors and suppliers planned in by the Cluster Chief Engineer
  • Ensuring all works are caried out in line with the health & safety regulations to keep the hotel compliant

Your profile

We are looking for ….
Someone who is a proactive team player, enjoys varied work, and has an affinity with the hotel industry. We are also looking for the following:
  • At least 2 years of experience in a relevant comparable position, preferably in a hotel environment.
  •  Knowledge of the Dutch laws and safety regulations within the hotel industry
  • You have good computer skills, and preferably knowledge of operating programs such as BMS.
  • You have a BHV diploma
  • You are fluent in Dutch and English.
